In Test cricket, Dhoni led India to win the ICC Test mace in 2010 and 2011. Under his captaincy, India clinched the Border-Gavaskar Trophy three times, in 2008, 2010, and 2013. In 2009, Team India achieved a historic Test series win in New Zealand after 41 years under Dhoni’s leadership.

Dhoni had an outstanding career in white-ball cricket, earning a spot in the ICC ODI Men’s Team of the Decade and ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Decade from 2011 to 2020. He also won the ICC Spirit of Cricket Award of the Decade in 2020. Among his many achievements, Dhoni led India to victory in the Commonwealth Bank Series in 2008, featuring hosts Australia and Sri Lanka.
